Dear Readers,
I am feeling those September giddy moments induced by extended exposure to blue skies and sunshine (which amounts to sunshine > 2 hours here in our fog-famous city). I just had to edit out the ridiculous number of giddy-ish exclamation points in each event listed below. But, seriously, we have some really fun events coming up! 
Spirits are also high in my house as the publication date for the final Amulet book has been announced after 5 long years of waiting. Those with graphic novel readers in their life know that this is the Harry Potter moment in publishing for children's graphic novels. Amulet 9, the conclusion of the series, will be released February 6th 2024. We are accepting pre-orders of Amulet 9 to hold a copy for your young reader HERE.
The other bit of excitement is that we have extended our cafe hours to 6pm every day of the week. And we have also added a 'take it to the beach' section of food that includes California sourced goodies such as tinned fish, gf crackers, miso flavored almonds, and, of course, lots of chocolate. Good snacks for sunset-watching on the dunes. 
And lastly, the thing I am most giddy about is that my sister's small business in Oakland, Redfield Cider Bar and Bottleshop, was just named one of the 2023 Best Wine Shops in America by Wine Enthusiast. It is my favorite spot in the East Bay to meet friends and there are two secret menu things to tell you. Firstly, get the cheese plate. Your welcome. Secondly, Basque cider can actually change your life.
